The small town of Sanok is perched on a hilltop above the San valley. It is a sleepy little place whose main attraction is the Skansen, or outdoor museum. Sanok is a perfect place to stop, rest and re-supply yourself before moving onto the Bieszczardy Mountains.
The Skansen is in the Biala Gora district of Sanok about 2 km from the Rynek, town square. The open-air museum brings together architectural styles from all of the region's main ethnic groups - Bojkowie, Lemkowie, Dolinianie and Pogorzanie. Specimens of every kind of country building have been carefully moved and reassembled here into little villages. There are examples of farm houses, churches, smithies, granaries, inns, windmills, watermill and even an old fire station! Complete with a 19th century fire engine. The Skansen preserves an image of what rural Poland was like in the 19th century.
The pictures taken using a Practica BC1 with a Tamrom AD2 35-70mm lens are prefixed with a P code. K coded pictures were taken with a Konica Z-Up 110 Super compact zoom. They have been scanned at 800dpi and are less than 2 mbytes.
