Firstly I must apologise to fans of my Death Products™. This one doesn't even make it into the Mostly Harmless range, in fact, it's Completely Harmless!

How to convert your lace-up rock shoes into slippers

Why do it? Well! We all have unique feet and sometimes the only shoes that fit well are lace-ups. This conversion gives you the sensitivity and accurate fit of a lace-up, with the on-off convenience of a slipper/Velcro.

How to do it? Remove your laces and replace them with bungee-cord! It's as simple as that.

  1. Remove your laces.
  2. Cut just over 3/4 the length of your laces in bungee cord. I used 4mm bungee cord.
  3. Lace up your shoe with the bungee cord.
  4. Add a plastic cord-grip thing for easy adjustment.
  5. Add a heat shrink sleeve. This is optional but it does make thing tidy.
  6. Tie off the ends of the bungee with an overhand knot.
  7. Heat shrink the sleeve ( optional).
